There has already been so many innovations in sneakers this year. Nike introduced a real self-lacing sneaker, Adidas brought 3D printing innovation to the forefront and also brought us adiscreet ganja-hiding shoe

Now New Balance is trying to get into the innovation game as well, with its own limited-edition version of a 3D printed shoe.Called the Zante Generate, the shoe will be extremely limited with only 44 pairs created, a nod to the years since current owner Jim Davis purchased the brand.
What's cool about the shoe is that the midsole is completely porous. In-person it looks like a honeycomb of sorts.

The company says this allows for the midsoles to mold into a wearer's feet. Meaning the more you wear the shoe, the more comfortable it will become.
The shoe comes from the brand's collaboration with 3D Systems, a brand that's already worked with Adidas. It uses elastomeric powder to create a midsole that's flexible but tough, durable yet soft to the touch.

"Our unique position as both a manufacturer and retailer allows us to bring the world's first 3D printed running midsole to market," said Robert DeMartini, the brand's CEO. "The Zante Generate demonstrates the strength of New Balance design and innovation and will allow consumers to own a piece of running technology history."
The shoe might not be for everyone, but one thing is certain: All big shoe brands are trying to get into the sneaker game. With Nike and Adidas pushing full force for new tech, it only makes sense that New Balance is moving forward as well.
The sneaker will be available Friday for $400 at newbalance.com.
